Coaching

LAWA is providing an opportunity for existing and new coaches to complete an Athletics Australia Level 1 Athletics Coach Qualification or upskill to become a Level 2 Coach. LAWA recognises that quality coaching is essential to the growth and success of our sport.  With this in mind LAWA is pleased to announce that funding is available to support developing coaches in achieving their Athletics Australia qualifications. Little Athletics WA and Athletics WA conducts a range of education courses for coaches in the community.

Introduction to Coaching Course

The Introduction to Coaching course is a non accredited practical coaching course designed for Little Athletics. The aim of the ITC course is to provide parents, teachers and interested sports people who have little or no experience of the sport of track and field coaching information and activities. Introduction to Coaching courses are designed for beginner coaches to give a sound basic knowledge and are particularly appropriate for people coaching young athletes at the grass roots level.

The majority of the course is practical, with some theory involved. The atmosphere of the course is fun, making it a day where people can feel relaxed and motivated by what you learn.
